Frequently Asked Questions

Please refer to these FAQ's below. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to come and visit or contact us by phone/email.

Members pay an annual fee (plus DUTIES if a chosen option) and a small hire fee (between 50c and $5 per toy) each time they take out an item from the library. Toys are issued for two weeks at a time. A maximum of ten toys can be borrowed at a time for full and duty membership, while six toys for the grandparent membership.

We can confidently say that our library offers toys suitable for newborns to children 5+ years. We even have a few toys aged 7+ for our older children.

You get immediate access to a huge number of toys, games and puzzles without the overwhelming cost, saving you money! When your little ones tire of their toys you can simply return and hire more - keeping them entertained and active in play, while also teaching the value of sharing. Toy library's are environmentally friendly and enable you to save space and clutter around the house (win-win)!

We ask that members who return a toy with a missing piece continue to look at home. If a missing piece is not found it is at the discretion of the librarians to charge a fine. If the missing piece is vital to the toy or the toy is destroyed, the replacement cost of the toy will be charged. We understand that toys can break or things may be lost during play, all we ask for is honesty and a willingness to rectify the situation.

We expect toys to be returned clean, just as they were when they were hired out. At the discretion of the librarians, a fee will be charged for each dirty toy that requires cleaning.

As we understand that things happen and not everyone can make it, we offer a grace period between sessions. Therefore if your toy is due on Wednesday and you aren't able to return it until Saturday - no fines will be charged. Fines are given for toys that are a week overdue and the fortnightly hire cost is charged per week the toy is late.
